Thanks, I pre-treated them with some Kroil penetrating fluid, and have a heatgun handy.

Thanks for passing the info. I have an '04 xlt 5.4l that also had a mysterious leak that I searched for over 3 years before I found it. The lower radiator hose where it connects to the oil cooler was the source. Those steel clamps that everyone hates had broken on the bottom where one of the sides and pierced the hose. Damn thing only leakes after shutting it off and building pressure. The only clue I found was one day it stalled out with the wife and when I got home I noticed the white trace at the electrical junction at steering column. Finally lined it up and when I squeezed the clamp it broke in the pliers.
