I am having a clutch done on my rig...352/NP gearbox...I ordered a clutch kit from my local parts house and it was a LUK kit...shop got it apart and so on...parts a no fit a my truck...grrrr...wrong clutch disc dia...it was 11.5". I sent it back after having the store look to see if they had another...they did...11" clutch disc as correctly needed...took it to shop...clutch was ok...but the pressure plate didnt fit...I still had the first kit in hand and compared the 2...same p/plate...compared it to the one off of mine...huge difference...new stuff was bigger bolt circle...
I took both back along with my old p/plate and just for sheets and giggles had them look up a kit for a 68 390 and 360 ...same p/n for both...
If you have an actual 390 flywheel on your FE then you can use a LUK kit(diaphram setup is what they use in their kit)...but if you have a 352/360...forget using LUK...they simply dont have/offer the correct kit for the smaller FE...after messaging ND and learning about the different diasmeter discs and p/plate bolt circles between the two I was relieved it wasnt the parts stores error. So I ended up getting a CarQuest kit...right part and it works fine now...
Thanks Bill...I owe ya one:-)
