CODES P0401, P2284

Hello, I'm trying here.

P0401 Came on this morning after having 0EVD/0EVM and was suggested return truck to stock and reset ECU by remove/replace #10 fuse under hood. Ran/drove/started truck few times and now pulling grade empty EVD 104 / EVM 100. Is this a turbo fart ? Sticky vanes, bad boot ? EGR valve just cleaned afaik working.

P2284. Truck will start and run fine KOEO 0 ICP 11 IPR, IDLE 580 ICP 20 IPR HI IDLE 1500rpm 820 ICP 15 IPR
but then when revved to 2000rpm all hell breaks loose. Truck will continue revving 1-2 seconds and idle 875 ICP 28.8 IPR.

Hate to throw parts but I was told replace ICP sensor.How many things could this be ?

Honestly I've only bought Fords for myself but I'm one step away from tossing in the towel. Just spent 2k getting egr/oil cooler replaced and now this crud pops up.

Hold the Throttle lets do some Diagnostic tests before you throw parts

Lets check the ICP Sensor to start with

Are you using a ScanGaugeII?????


Have you ever cleaned the EGR Valve???

P2284 ICP Injector Control Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance A difference in commanded versus actual injection oil pressure was detected.

BAR MAP EBP Should be within 1-2 psi of eachother at KOEO


Check this One out is the Code entered Right????
Or could it be in KPA or whatever instead of PSI


Electrical wise the ICP Sensor Looks OK so FAR ICPV to be good should be .18-.24volts at KOEO


Lets Go Ahead and Test each sensor and get 3 Values per each sensor

this how below and you check every sensor basicaly this way

OPERATING VALUES
Just make shure the numbers are taken exactly like this
Truck in PARK OR NEUTRAL all times during test
ECT at 190* or close to And EOT at 185* or higher
A/C OFF
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#1-------KOEO=Key On Engine Off =record EACH sensor value and POST IT!!
#2-------Low Idel (truck idel on its own)=record EACH sensor value and POST IT!!
#3-------High Idel (2500RPM)=record EACH sensor value and POST IT!!

*COULD NOT GET TRUCK TO HOLD STEADY HI IDLE ! Like i posted after 2000rpm it just revs to outer space on its own ! YES I have a steady foot. It's like the throttle position sensor isn't working past 2000 rpm. Can't even catch it on the way down rpm wise.

best readings at a micro glance AS IT SHOT PAST AND BACK AGAIN 2500 rpm

BARO 28.8 or 0.1 again

Shoot Benny I don't know it's getting worse and i'm driving our suburban neighbors nuts coming and going and trying to hold a steady idle.

Im reading here others with throttle sensor problems was dead accel and it would throw specific codes.

How about turbo vanes sticking ? I'm getting puffs of black smoke out tailpipe when accelerating hard. Just the two codes though, no pending

So it sounds like the truck has a Mind of its Own

So Far the Numbers Look OK Except Baro and it might be reporting in Kpa IDK

the SGII if you scroll thrw menu will have an Option make shure its in PSI

Hang on I will check the SGII Code

benny check your sg formula for baro. i suspect its wrong. 28.8 /2= 14.4.
looks like kpa to me

I APPRECIATE your help guys. I'd like to figure this out. If you followed my threads you know yesterday i got my truck from shop who replaced egr/oil coolers, cleaned manifold , egr valve and center section of turbo, oil and coolant. When i picked it up owner said over revving and codes. I said never ever did that but we agreed may be tuner glitch so i took it home and returned to stock and now here i am. Shop closed today

My turbo is 14 months new, my egr valve reads 100evm 104evd 3/4 throttle. I was just outside wiggling the wires to the icp and egr. nothing and they are very clean. My OBDII light is lit. The baro reading has me wondering ?

I need to be informed when i take it back monday. Not pointing blame but it didnt do any of this before it went in.

I'm just tired, real tired of how dealers and shops have a hard time diagnosing a 6.0 but also ALL the variables of what could be and can go wrong.

Sorry i swung into that dealership with my 7.3 thinking i was getting something better. Damn the EPA !
