Battery drain issue

The voltage regulator has been replaced. I assume they gave me the "modern" style. Is there a chance they gave the old style? The old one had contactors on the underside, new one was an enclosed unit

Wont start-slow crank over
My one ton did the same thing a couple of years ago, turned out to be a bad starter, new starter fixed problem. I usually have to replace the starters on my 390's every couple of years. It gets really hot here in the summer and with the heat from the exhaust system the heat slowly kills the starter until it cranks slow and finally won't crank fast enough to start an FE.
