efuel and door handle question

Hey guys, I have been looking at buying an efuel kit from either beans or irate and was wondering if anybody had any experience or helpful information. I dont really understand all the differences with the pumps and this whole "regulated return" thing... also i was wondering if there is somewhere to buy the door handle mechanism on the inside of the door as mine seems to be broken...thanks

I'm no help on the e-fuel but I know that there are several guys here running the Irate setup. They say that it is a nice kit, but the instructions (or lack thereof) leave a lot to be desired. The regulated return is the principle that the fuel pump pressurizes the whole fuel system and the regulator just returns the excess fuel to the tank. The regulator goes after the injectors and just bleeds off enough fuel to maintain a constant pressure in the system. There are other ways of doing it but using a regulated return does a better job of guaranteeing a continuous supply of fuel to the injectors.

As for the door handle, is it the mechanism that is broken or just the handle? The handles are cheap and readily available. If it is the mechanism, I would think a junk yard would be your best bet.

I have the irate kit and it is clean and well put together. But like nate said, the instructions are not the best. Especially if you don't know how the fueling system works on these trucks. Don't let that discourage you though. Cause we can walk you through it. I have a little write up from when I did mine that might help.

For door handle get a metal one from junkyard. All ford broncos or f150 from 84 up will fit. Just one bolt it takes a 8mm socket. Have experience with this. Also if you have to pull door panel harbor freight has a set of plastic trim removal tools that work great. Good luck.

looks like a trip to the junkyard for my doors! Gabe, do you have your write up on here somewhere or some pics of things installed? Just curious of your opinion on performance, is it just plain awesome or is it just a better "system" with less leak potential etc? also does it use the hard lines and banjo bolt or do you have to remove the turbo and re do all the fuel lines?

The kit replaces all your lines and fittings except the return line going to the tank. I dont know if you have to remove the turbo or not cause i put a new turbo on with a different mount at the same time. I will post up the thread where i start putting it on when im not on my phone. The system is alot better than stock. I dont think you will see any more power from it.

Hey dont know if you already got your kit or not but after researching it I am going with and air dog kit. You still have to do your own reg. return but price wise its not a bad way to go because it is an air seperator also and has hoses and wire harness. It also has a lifetime gaurantee. They dont sell a kit specifically for our trucks so it is the kit for the 7.3 superduty. Everything I have done has been through beans and been very happy with them, great customer service.
