Not a problem Chuck, I do appreciate your help. I only have a few things left to hook up. I'll be celabrating a birthday at the end of Feb. and hope to gift myself with success. Keeping focused on one thing is my biggest problem and working around poor planning on my part, but things are going forward little by little.
I one of those nuts who likes wiring ! I've found that checking for ohms (resistance) with a multimeter has been my best friend on wiring projects. Since grounding is the issue, zero ohms means you're grounded, period.
An inexpensive Volt-Ohm Meter (VOM) should be in any mechanic's or DIYer's tool box. You can get one for free using a coupon that often appears in Harbor Fright's ads, or buy one for under 20.00. If all the numbers on the dial or switches intimidates you (and/or you refuse to read directions...) you can buy a digital readout VOM or if totally terrified by anything electronic (your microwave still blinks 12:00, and your alarm clock must be wound every night) you can test most circuits with a pair of simple old school circuit testers: a continuity tester and a voltage tester, available at most big box auto parts store. Both testers look similar, like an awl with a bulb in the handle and a jumper wire with a clip on the end attached to it. The continuity tester needs a battery in it, the voltage tester does not. If you buy either the VOM or the circuit tester set and still can't figure out how to use them , don't be ashamed to come back and ask for a tutorial!
John and all those with wiring phobias... READ THIS !!!
under no circumstances should you EVER cut ANY wire in a wiring kit... they all have special ends that maintain the containment of the electricity..
When you cut the wires and then attach the battery, the battery will push all it's electrical stuff out of the cut wires and it will run all over the floor... you'll be tripping over it all day...plus you'll track it into the house and SWMBO is gonna have a come apart. But eventually it will run out onto the 'ground' and you will be safe again... DON'T CUT NO WIRES

Unless they are Lucas wires, then cutting a wire lets the smoke out.
