I have a early 1965 f350 (6092 actual miles) that I have converted to 8 lug and power drum brakes. My question is what front wheel cylinders can I use to go to dual action cylinders? I just don't like the front shoe moving by itself. The front 8 lug conversion went real well and looks original.
Yes, it is correct mileage. I have the documents, New York dealer (Gotham Ford)to customer title (registration) and to Humble Oil & Refining in Pelham NY. and then to Northside Aviation in Reading PA. It never left the air port except when it was new it went to Humble Oil & Refining to have the tank and pumps installed. I removed the tank and everything else down to cab and chassis. I now have it apart for repaint and am putting a stake bed on it.
I read in here somewhere that you should just put the left rear wheel cylinder on the right front and also the right to the left front. Is that the way to go?
My '63 F100 had single-piston front wheel cylinders. I tried the left rear on the right front route and they didn't fit. I used the dual-piston front cylinders from a '64 and they fit like a champ. Since yours is a different year/model you might have to experiment.
C1TT-2061-A Right & C1TT-2062-A Left .. Single Piston Front Wheel Cylinders-1 1/8" / Obsolete
1961/66 F350 (front/rear brakes are 12 1/8" x 2").
----------------------------------------------- C5TZ-2061-C Right & C5TZ-2062-C Left .. Dual Piston Front Wheel Cylinders-1 1/8" / Obsolete
1965 F250 2WD/4WD (all have 12 1/8" x 2" brakes) / 1966 F250 2WD/4WD with 12 1/8" x 2" brakes (some have 12" x 2 1/2" brakes) / 1967 F350 w/12" x 3" brakes.
F350 front brake hoses: 1961/64 use one type, 1965/66's use asnother. 1967/71 is different again, but are the same as 1965/71 F100/250 2WD
What was the first year for front disk brakes on a F350? Will the later disk f350 front axles bolt on the 66 or earlier trucks? My next project needs to be a real work truck and like it to have disk brakes and 66 body style.
I looked at some of the earlier post but did not find much information other that the difficulty matching the bolt patterns.
I know this is a little off topic but it is related.
Would really like to see this truck that is probably the lowest mileage slick I've heard of so far when did you buy it from reading PA that's only about half hour from me. Was it a fuel truck? I always thought the f250 and f350's were factory 8 lug. When did they go from 5 lug to 8 lug on them?

Some of the F350's were optional 6-lug with the 17.5" Budd wheels.
