Hey fellas I'm in a stump can anyone tell me what amp my alternator is suppose to have in
My 2004 ford f150 4.6 V8L engine,
My last alternator doed on me so I bought a bosch and put it in myself my truck ran like a champ
For about a month and a half then suddenly my battery light keeps coming randomly, I think I bought the wrong amp size alternator and that's why the light keeps coming on also this morning my headlights were dim then bright then dim. Can anuone tell me what amps I should be out so I can fix this. Thanks everyone.
I doubt you put the wrong size alternator in. Almost all of them are 110 amps. Your more likely to have bad battery now. There is a simple test, they might even do it free at your local chain part stores that have service bays. My local Pep Boys checks codes for free. They clamp a meter on your battery and can load test it to see if it is bad. They also can tell if the alternator is working properly with the same tester. I would have this done before you start replacing parts.
Thanks man for your input I'm ganna buy a new battery and see if that does the trick.
I've had the test done several times both always pass, but several people including you have said battery so I'm gunna roll with it, thanks again and I'll post the results
