I've read every forum on here related to to hub tear down. This photo is as far as I seem to be able to get. This adjusting washer appears on both hubs to be threaded on. It's the circular piece with the patterned holes all the way around. How does this piece come out ? Is there a special tool? All the blogs say it should be the next piece out but mine appear to be super tight! Please help.

 

that washer is a locking ring it has a key on it that sits in the key way on the spindle and there is a nut behind it that has a pin that goes in one of the holes if you have a pick or other similar tool you should be able to work it out by pulling on ether side a little at a time

 

It must be bound up in the slot on the spindle. try tapping it back with a hammer and a small punch. a 90° pick works best to remove after you free it.

 

When I took mine apart it took a while to get out it finally slid out took a lot of patience but came out
