95 F-150 trans problem
I have a friend that has a 95 F-150 5.0 4x4 frankinstine... He was driving it and he lost all forward gears.. Reverse still works fine.. We changed a couple parts, not sure what they are all called, one was where the shift linkage is on the side of the trans, the other was inside the pan, a transmission control solenoid, then changed the filter.. I dont know what this thing has in it for a trans, but the filter kit it calls for wasnt even close ( calls for a 20 bolt pan kit, It has 14 bolts ) . Ended up getting a filter kit for a 97 AWD 5.0 Explorer.. It has a E4OD.. There was no noises or slipping when it quit working.. Is there something else it could be or do you think the trans is just toast???

Was the CEL ever on? Has he tried to pull codes? Can be easy to do.

What do I have for a trans in this thing???? Why is it everything I look up for this has a 20 bolt pan. This has a 14 bolt pan.. Its a 95 but can I put a trans in it from a 97insh?? The only thing I could find that looked like this one is in a AWD explorer. Can you swap the AWD transfur case with a 4x4 one so I can use that trans without having to change the output shaft?
