Gary, here's what you need. Other than the 5 speed and the fact that it was a Turbo I from the factory, it's the twin to mine.

1985 Chysler Lebaron Convertible. 2.2 Turbo, 5-speed

Not bad for $1800. But, I really, REALLY don't need another project. Even a driver would turn into a project somehow.

I don't know the exchange rate. But, it is a 440-6 car, which is with a lot more. My '69 w/a 383 4-bbl, 4-speed is supposedly worth $33K American in the shape it is in, meaning a Cat 3 car. So, even it would be worth ~$50k in #1 condition. And a 440-6 adds about 50% to the price.

Damn, you guys down under must love American hot rods. I got a message the a couple of weeks ago from a gentleman in Sydney Australia asking if I used to own a certain Shelby. He has it now fully restored. Knowing the current value of one of these and the import duty he probably paid coupled with shipping from wherever it was, he has a ton in it! BTW, it still has the 2 4bbl Holleys I put on.

Yeah, we (NZ) are definitely a petrol-head nation, but 60's-70's muscle cars fetch a premium. The recession has affected the market though.

The exchange rate is around $1NZ / $0.82US
