Check Trailer Light Comes On
'05 F 250 with 6.0 and auto trans, has the built-in brake controller. The problem is the "Check Trailer" warning buzzer and light comes on and I do not have a trailer behind. It doesn't do it all the time but every once in a while. Anybody have an idea what is going on! Thanks

If you haven't already, check the seven pin connector at the back of the truck. They've been known to corrode and cause some weird things like that. Make sure it's dry in there also. If it's corroded, clean it up and I used dielectric grease on mine to keep the gunk out.

My 05 6.0 with brake controller does the same thing only with the trailer hook to the truck. It's been doing this for 6-7 months and everytime it warning goes off I look in the mirrors and the trailer is still there. Guess the truck is does know whats going on. Anyway it belong to the dealer now as i traded for a new 2013 6.7 Just picked it up last Monday.
