Just acquired a really nice 1965 F-600 dump truck. Truck has only 24,000 original miles, and very minimal rust. The only thing wrong with it is that the transmission pops out of reverse gear. I have all the info off of the door VIN tag. Please help me find out everything there is to know from this tag.

24,000 original miles is unrealistic on a 48 year old truck, especially one that was used commercially.

Do not believe the mileage, as the odometer reads to 99,999.9 then returns to ZERO! So, it could have 124,000, 224,000 or who knows how many miles.

F60 = F600 (gas).

3594 = Domestic Special Order number. The truck was ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."

No Color code on the Warranty Plate: The vehicle is painted a non standard color per the original purchasers order, making it a Domestic Special Order.

 

Thank you for help. As far as the mileage goes, I do not find it unrealistic due to the fact that the truck is nearly 99% rust free, and that it was owned by a college which used it on campus for snow plowing, and landscape work. They said the truck rarely left campus and they purchased the truck in 1982 with a mere 16,000 miles on it back then.
