Question headers for 429 cj

I recently picked up a 429 cj to install in my '78 Ranger.

I'm looking at putting headers on. Does anyone know if i can use headers for a stock 429, or if i need special ones?

Either way, if anyone knows some part numbers i can look for, that would also be helpful. My truck is 2WD.

thanks

If it is a CJ with DOOE-R heads, the exhaust ports are much larger than standard production 385 heads.

solidmike, you might want to try L&L for headers. I don't see a set specifically for CJ heads but you may want to call them to see if they make any.

L&L Ultraflow headers here--->http://www.landlproducts.com/ultraflowBronco.htm

Summit may be able to help you out too. Give them a call.

FPA sells headers for the 429CJ heads. Not cheap but great quality.

I know of a source that sells a tri-y design header for our trucks and will put on a CJ/SCJ flange on special request. LMK if you are interested in this company. I don't want to post them in case they are in competition with FTE. That would be poor form on my part.
