After I installed the 6637, I immediately experienced turbo flutter when pulling grade EMPTY. I used to be able to pull this particular grade with the OEM setup and it didn't flutter. Then the obvious drone at a specific RPM range. My wife was PISSED. LOL. If I can make this go away for $200 and not add an even louder wheel (WW) to the truck, I'm all for it. How does the cost of an AIS filter compare to the cost of a 6637? Is the filter change interval truly 2X the mileage of the 6637?
Be sure what your hearing isn't some turbo surge. If it's light it's hard to hear with the OEM box, but rings pretty clear with an open element.

The cost works out to even in the end. I am down in dusty Central Texas, and I have put 20k on my AIS filter so far. Not even pulling the filter minder in a little yet. Ford advertised these filters can go 60-75k under moderate conditions. In extreme conditions you should still get 40k out of a filter. Same retailer I referenced before has the best price on replacement filters as well...$57.55, so you should only need to buy one every 3 years or so. Unless you are hot-shotting your truck, of course.
