Question Fiber Glass Hood

hello guys, updating my Bronco project. This time i'm planing on swaping the old hood to a cowl-induction hood from CarHoods.com | Custom Hoods, Monster Truck bodies, Race Bodies, Fiberglass Auto Body Parts since 1987. If interested it's the "Dominator".

talking to the guy from carhoods.com he suggests that I change the springs that open the hood and keep it raised, due to the strength of them. Fiber glass being lighter than metal, the springs might warp or even break the hood.

so my question is: has anyone here done the hood swap? any idea of where to find a different/lighter/softer spring to open/raise the hood?

as always, any suggestion is appreciated

happy 2013!!!

Ty, I'll get in contact with him. My springs are different, but there's nothing to loose just by asking

Knowing that the hoods they sell are lighter than stock, you would think they would include lighter springs in the purchase of the hood. Or at the very least, have them available separately. Good looking hood. I like the tilt front end, but the price is too much for me.
