EXT temp indication

It appears as if my temp sensor is maybe acting up. Today I got in the truck and it said 36 degrees for exterior temp. it was really about 75 outside tho. it slowly crept up to about 45 but that was only a few minute drive. dont know if it will come around or not but usually it is pretty dialed in fairly quick. anyone see this before??

i have 100k bumper to bumper. but i took er for a drive and she seems to have "waken up" or something. it was a cold one last nite and i washed her first thing this morning. then sat all day. maybe the sensor was wet or something. i will keep my eye on er and report back.

I know in mine and the 6.0's the temp sensor is behind the bumper on the passenger side. Might wanna check the connection. It's a funny looking round device plugged into a harness.

seems to be working fine now. i presume it was wet as the passenger mirror had a good amount of water applied during its bath. truck is nice n dry now and all seems to be fine.

Where is this info found? I have a 2012 Lariat FX4 Ultimate package and I have been looking thru the info screens and can't find it. I really miss knowing the outside temp.

Thanks

On the climate control screen...not the driver information screen.

Depending on what model, it should be here. Press the "EXT" button if you don't see it.

See the EXT button on your HVAC controls? Press that button and that HVAC display will stop displaying the internal temp setting and start displaying the external temp.

EDIT: "Missed it by that much"

Hit the EXT button on your HVAC controls.

If you have the basic radio with basic message center, then it is part of the basic message center in the driver's console.
Just to throw that out there...
