Hello everyone, I am new to the ford truck forum but have been reading different problems since I bought a 78 f150. My question right now is what carb, the holley 350 or holley 500 would be better for the ford 400m.
If the 400 is stock i would go with the 350. If i was to add headers, better cam and a few other upgrades . Then i would change to a 4/b manifold and 650 carb. There are a lot of choices for that engine depending on what you want and can spend.
thanks for the response. Right now I don't have the money to do a lot of upgrades, but eventually I would like to ad headers and a four barrel intake and carb. So for right now, I guess a holley 350 would be my best choice until I can come up with the money to upgrade like I want to.
If intending to upgrade later, opt for an Autolite 2100... they're cheap and easy to rebuild. I see rebuildable units for as low as $20 at swap meets... Or post a WTB in the FTE classifieds cuz there's prolly one gathering dust on a member's part shelf.
