Help with Engine serial number...
I'm going to look at a new F350 today and I want to verify the engine serial number and build date.
I have been told that this engine has a build date of 05/09/03 but where on the engine do I find this info?
Please be specific...I have yet to look under the hood of one of these new trucks...and this will be my first diesel...so I don't know my way around.

Help with Engine serial number...
Open the hood,
look on the driver side valve cover...
you will have to get on the side and look around way in there, but there's a large white sticker with bar coding, etc..
it will also have the build date there...

Drivers Side?
I know this is old, but for clarification purposes only, the ESN (Engine Serial Number) sticker should be located on the *Passenger* Side valve cover. The FICM and Intake piping are on the driver's side of the 6.0L.
