Electric 4x4 question

1995 F150 in my sig. This is more of a "just double checking" question. A couple months back, I swapped my xfer case motor for a known good used one. It's been working fine, until tonight when I pulled in my driveway. 4WD high light is lit dimly, and pressing the buttons doesn't do anything at all. No change in the light, no xfer case engagement.

I'm thinking my xfer case motor is bad again, but just wanted to double check before I buy a new one and find out the problem is the controller or switches.

Don't have an EVTM for the truck, so I'm not really sure how to test things.

Thanks in advance for any help offered!
