Hey guys I have a '96 2fiddy 5.8 auto and I finally decided to pull the codes since the check engine light was on for awhile. The code that came up was P0332 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2). So I figure I will go to the store and purchase a new sensor and try that first. I cannot find a store nor online catalog that has a knock sensor for my truck. I guess my question is am I a ******* or is the scanner wrong or what. Another side question I have is that my truck is a 1996 and it is not OBDII. I still have the computer hookup in the engine bay. I thought everything 96 on was OBDII. Anyway the guy I bought it from awhile back said that it is on its second motor and something like when it was replaced they put the Lightning motor in it? So perhaps the Lightning F-series motor was of a different year and that is why I cant find a replacement sensor?
I appreciate any help guys. I read the forums a lot and you guys have definately helped me through some issues on multiple trucks.
If your truck is OBD-1, then you did not get P0332. Only OBD-II codes use the "Pxxxx" "Bxxxx" "Cxxxx" nomenclature.
In 1996 all half ton trucks were OBD-II. The 3/4-ton and up trucks were still transitioning '97 based on which states required it. By '98 everything had the OBD-II connector.
