Delay when shifting into reverse
I have a 2004 F350 6.0l. I took it into the shop because i noticed that there was a delay when shifting into reverse and would somtimes clunk into gear. They pulled the codes and reset and told me on the test drive he couldnt notice anyrhing and to come back when it got worse. So I came back 3 days later and they droped the pan and found some filings in the botom. Fluid not burnt looked good, They droped the tranny took it apart. They replaced the planitary gear apparently i missed the recall, new seals where needed control pressure solenoid and reverse solenoid. Truck has only 150000kms the tranny guy said everythink looks like it just came of the parts shelf.
Tranny put back in and test drove and still delays into reverse and sometimes into drive. They then tested the line pressure and found it low for about 3 seconds then a hard spike in pressure.
They told me they dont know whats wrong?????? they cant figure out why the pressure is low then spikes.
Im going crazy. I have been without my truck now 2 weeks and really getting tired of this.
Soo Im hoping some of you knoledgable people may be able to give some ideas theory's etc as to why the delay and spike or how to fix the problem. I just want to help the guys figure it out so I can have my truck back. Worst part is I asked them if i should drop the 5000 bucks and just get a new tranny.
Thanks Rob
Any other ideas? Every one is helpful. They are Ford tranny techs and are stumped and i got no truck, bummer taking the bus sucks.lol
