trick flow twisted wedge heads

I found myself with a few extra $s to put into my EB 351W engine and Xmission project. I am considering adding a set of the trickflow twisted wedge heads with a 61 cc combustion chamber and 170 cc intake runner.

I have to admit I am considering them because of price. I really hate spending money on heads.

I will be running a roller cam with less than their max of .540" lift.

I read a lot of hearsay on forums about poor quaility but it all seem to be second hand freind of a freind or something some one read on a competitors website.

I assume there are more than a few of you running these heads. Any truth to the low quality rumors?

Trickflow twisted heads have rotated valve centers. If you run too large of a cam or have domed pistons, they may not work. Claying your piston to valve clearance will need to be done.

If you can imagine you are looking down at the top of your pistons, stock style heads have the valves at the 9 and 3 o clock position. TW heads have the valves at 10 and 4 o'clock positions.

I dont run twisted wedge heads myself, but have had them in my fingers.

The other option you might want to consider is a canted valve head. Going with a "Clevor" set up will give you more bang for you buck over all. however it will cost more bucks, because it requires a different intake and exhaust. Claying of the piston will still need done for clearances. I can post more info if this does interest you.
