Tranny problems
I am having some big problems with my 99 f250 with the 5.4 triton. It was running perfectly but the Friday I had to go through a fair bit of snow. Got some under the hood. It sat parked outside in the cold all day Saturday. Sunday I started it, warmed it up and headed to town. Made two miles and lost 3 and 4th gear. Stopped. Tranny oil level was low. I topped it up and found no leaks. It drove 2 miles back home with all gears working. Parked it. This morning I took it to town, got a mile and a half and lost 3rd and 4th gears again. It was down a little on oil again. Added half a Litre and it brought it back up but still don't have those gears. If I put it in over drive possision it won't shift from first to second. But it will if I put it in second. It also started idling higher than usual. What would be the problem? Also it was recently serviced. Tranny oil is in great shape.
