Hello, Just getting reaquainted with this site. I originally joined when it first started 10 to 15 years ago, got busy with job and family, kids grown and gone started back working on my projects with friends in similar circumstances. My fleet is growing-my friend Randy says Fords just "grow up naturally"out of the pasture-he says Pintos come up but he sprays for those. The current crop are: 56 f100, 56 f600 fuel truck, 1971 swb, 78 f250 sc 4wd, and 78 f150 sc 4wd and other things with wheels. Have had fun getting these things running again. Planning to go to the Antique Truck Historical Society meet in May in Yakima WA. with something from the fleet. I'll try to keep up on this site.
Thanks fordman! Been working on the 56 f100 the most. Got rid of the holley teapot and the wicked dist that goes with it, replaced by a carter 4bbl and 64 dist. 292 runs wonderful now. Redid the seat and door panels. Steering is next, then update the bed. I bought the truck in 85, but needed a truck not a project. Sold it to a friend, his wife got tired of seeing it. So I got it back a few years ago.

I haven't seen too many 4V carbs on the F100's stock. I've heard those Holley teapots weren't the greatest unless you like car-b-ques! It sounds like you've don some good work on it so far. You need to post some more pics!!
That's cool that you got it back. I wish I could get my hands on a few of my old cars and trucks.
I think your F600 looks pretty cool too. I really like that style flatbed on those big trucks.
Well to tell the truth it isn't water that makes em grow it is the soil-particularly the "iron content". When some of those Dearborn iron parts hit the ground they just naturally spring right up. Doesn't work with the Chxxys though since they contain so much plastic and contaminants.

I put a couple more pictures of the F600 with the fuel tanks on it in the gallery. There are tanks inside some of the compartments which were used for motor oil and other things. Got it running but needed a water pump so i rebuilt the pump with a kit from MACs. Have not installed it yet. I am not sure what motor is in it. I think it came with the 272 but will check it out eventually.

That F600 is a cool looking truck. It looks to be in good shape too.
I'm not very knowledgeable on the Y-blocks but I believe the 56 could be a 272,292, 312 or even the big Lincoln Y-block. Something like 302 or 317 Y-block. Which ever engine it has you've got a cool truck there.
If you could take a picture of the engine it might help narrow things down a little.

Well it is either a 272 or 292 not the bigger lincoln motor just based on looks and equipment. The F100 had a 292 which I deciphered from the block number from 1964 for which they only made 292s. The 56 truck motors were tough to know for sure but vin tag says its a 272. Considering the mileage I doubt it is original-perhaps rebuilt---we shall see in the spring.
