Hey All,

I am well aware this is clearly OT but FTE always comes through... Having trouble with my Honda XR650r clutch, any motorcycle / honda guys here ? And besides the bike looks great in the back of my 6.0.

Are the housings the bearings are in shouldered?. Loooks like one needs to be recessed further into the housing. Ive done lots of 2 stroke clutches but no 4 strokes.

 

Thanks for the response, there is a shoulder in the pressure plate that the bearing should ride against, but for some reason it is not, it is like the pressure plate or clutch basket is just a bit to wide i.e. creating the gap. I've done quite a few clutches on bikes over the years and never seen this.

I can adjust this out with the cable but it takes every bit of adjustment in both the lever and lower end of the cable, I'm wondering if somewhere in the rebuild the wrong actuator rod got put back in, maybe something out of one of the new 450's as they are a bit narrower than my old dinosaur XR650r
