Hey there folks. Just to give you a quick rundown, I'm an employee at a med. sized dealership that specializes in retailing Ford, Chevy & Dodge diesels. We do about 120 trucks a month. Im the technician here. Anyhow, i've been lurking on here for quite some time, However this is my first post.
We ran into quite the debacle yesterday. Truck pulled in with P0098 & p0107, Map/Baro & Iat2 sensor voltages out of range.
I pop the hood and the both pigtails have been eaten! WTF! This truck is sold, and the customer flew in from out of state to pick up the truck. Long story short, Ford CANNOT get the pigtail for IAT2, So i pulled another 6.4 around and clipped the pigtail and installed it on the sold truck.
Now heres my question. Does anyone know where i can get a used engine harness for a 6.4? Or a used pigtail for IAT2? I called all my local salvage places, Ford, LKQ, ETC. At this point the only option is a $1100 Engine harness from ford.
BTW the connectors in need are listed as C1087 (Map/Baro) & C129 (IAT2) in the FSM or ALLDATA.
I have a way that might work for you http://www.fordtechservice.dealercon...torcatalog.pdf
This PDF is the Ford Pigtail catalog. Find the ones you need then go to Amazon and see if you
can find one and have then ship express. And you may want to refill the rat trap/bait stations
before they get any more on you. I hear that squirrels like Ford wire too.
It's great to hear how you were able to take care of the customer with parts from another truck. Unfortunately not all dealers will go that far to make things right.
Sean is dead on, and I highly recommend contacting Tousley's parts department. they sell more parts online than anyone else and beat most everyone's prices. Their parts department is a separate building from the rest of the dealer and they have a better inventory than any other dealer I've been to. If anyone can help you with this, it's them.
Give them a call, (800) 328-9552. Be sure to mention that you want the internet price!!!
Tom,
I keep a copy of that pigtail PDF on my desktop it's so handy.
and a copy of the link to it so I can repost it when this type of
question comes up.
Thank You for the complement.

I second that! Hopefully you find the parts you need and get the donor truck back up and running.
well folks, i looked at all the connectors in the pdf and couldnt find the one i need, and the parts guys at my ford dealership talked to ford and apparently they dont offer anything.
do you guys happen to know of any late model ford specific junk yards?

No, but did you ever call Tousley? I'm serious, those folks are good, and they have the largest parts operation I've ever seen.
I am surprised that you did not find that plug. Can you post a photo
and a description of the location and motor it is for.
If you look in the back of that catalog there is an index of the
pigtails by application. I know there there a few that are not listed
and you use a pigtail that is for something else. But it's the right
one and does fit. It's like someone just forgot to add it.
So you may have to look it up by shape and pin count.
The guys at Tousley should be able to help
