Yesterday I picked up a "new" to me 2011 F250 SD with the 6.2 gasser. 19000 miles
Previous owner had installed an Airaid intake and a Banks exhaust system.
Are there any known negatives that I should be watching for? I know in some circles the aftermarket intakes are not real popular, but this one is going to be used primarily on highway, but I do live a couple of miles off the pavement.
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

Reason: insert mileage
Yeah, I know-- no pics yet, This wkend I need to stick some new gears in my JEEP and beef up the front axle at the same time. When I get that out of the way, I will post up some pics. Thanks.
I have not seen or heard of anything, though admittedly, I don't stay close on that type of stuff. I will say though, a potential issue could be with warranty work. If the aftermarket parts caused the failure of something else, you could end up paying for it. Otherwise, I can't imagine anything.
Adding to what Ed said, I'd throw the stock intake/exhaust back on it if you have it available, at least until you're comfortable with the truck's reliability, etc. This way you'll be covered for warranty work should you need it. Those mods won't do much for power for the truck without a tune worked into the mix anyways.
Honestly, the motor's pretty solid, I'd tell you to go down to the 6.2 forum, but we're pretty quiet down there..
I also have a 2011 6.2 gas F250, I put on the Airaid intake . Local driving- I liked the sound but last year I towed my trailer with 4 bikes in it from N.Y. to Fl. after 4hrs the sound starts getting to you. I ended up taking it off and putting it back on stock air intake. I also gained at least 1 more mpg with the stock air intake as oppossed to the aftermarket airaid.

I don't know what to compare to, because this is the only 6.2 I have driven. Have lots of experience with the 5.4 and this engine seems to have some pretty big gonads by comparison. How would a old fart like me figure out if the engine has a tune on it?
Hmm, I don't know how you could tell if it had a tune on it short of asking the previous owner. Did you buy from a dealer or directly from someone? If a dealer, see if they'll contact the previous owner. If you bought it outright from someone, contact them and see if they had one on there or if it was left stock.

Probably isn't possible-- bought from a local dealer, and I know he goes to car auctions in Billings, MT to get a lot of his late model stuff, and I know this pickup came from that area.

Well, if you're concerned about it, you could always have your dealer flash the computer. That would remove any tunes that might have been in it. Unless the truck was modified in other ways (lift, bigger tires, non-OEM rims, etc.), it is unlikely it has a tune in it.
Thanks guys, I'll probly run it a little while to see how it acts, what kind of fuel mileage that I will get, etc. and go from there. Any ideas as to what to expect for mileage in the real world?? 12-14??? Average??
congrats on your purchase! I just picked up my '12 cc 4x4 last month and I love it!
This is my first Ford and I am very happy and very impressed. The 6.2 is extremely stout IMO for moving this 7000 pound truck like it does.
Mileage depends on your gear ratio and tire size.....I have 3.73's and I average 14 or so around town...not hot roding it and not babying it hwy I can get it to 16 or so at or under 70mph

Hey, thanks guy. Yup, I've got the 3.73's also. And yup, this motor seems to have plenty of cajones! Not my first Ford by any means, but probly my strongest! And I have been driving the big blue oval for 50+ years!
Kind of took a step down in the "fancy " level-- traded my '07 Mark LT for this Lariat, but it is still a damn nice truck. But I now wanted a puller and think I have one
