Maf

I've asked before what did it take to swap from a 4.9l to a 5.8l and seems like a fairly simple swap but my question now is after I do the swap how could I go about to converting to maf? I know on the 5.0 mustang its easy but is it the same with trucks, would I be able to use the same stuff you use on a 5.0 on the 5.8 to convert it

If the truck has an E4OD or 4R70w computer controlled transmission then you have to use a truck computer for a MAF comversion, but if it's got a C6, AOD, or manual Mustang parts can be used.

Okay. My truck is a 92 so it is obd 1 and I guess I'm not understanding if I have to convert to obd 2 when I convert to maf on the 5.8

No, you do not need to convert to OBD-II.

It might work, but you're really going to want to use the correct hardware/software with your chosen hardware. That means use the matching PCM for the 5.8 and whatever input devices it requires.

It depends what you mean by "stuff" here, sensors and wiring are the same for both motors, MAF meters are the same, injectors are the same, computer programming is even close enough that a 5.0 PCM will run a 5.8 no problem. But the complete intake(upper and lower) are unique to a 5.8, as is the distributor so those parts have to come from a 5.8.
