Today I was backing my ex up in my yard(down hill) and it acted like it was going to cut off. So put it in drive and it would not go,so I thought low in fluid. So I checked it, it was fine. So I tried it in drive down the hill and its fine. So confused as I was I tryed in reverse again and it done it again. Anybody else? Any clues to why? Thanks for the help. Oh ya its a 03 v10 with 76xxx miles
where is it? how do you clean it? Thank you so much.
I'm on my phone right now at work so I can't really get into it but if you use the search you should be able to find some good threads to help you out.
I went to a really steep paved road today.I would say about 100 150 yrds long. Went up it, stopped halfway up and just set there in drive nothing happened. Put it in reverse and a couple secs later it cut off. How would the air control valve make this happen?

No one else seems to be helping you out so let me see if I can...1st what do you mean buy "cut off'? Did the engine stall?... If it slips on hills it could be from the transmission's pump sucking air due to low fluid, a cracked or loose trans filter or maybe even the wrong one installed. How does the fluid look and smell?..You may want to add a quart of fluid and see if it helps...Good luck .
The more symptom information and history you can give the better...
Sometimes it stalls sometimes it doesnt. the fluid on has 6000miles on it. trans does not slip. I only have 76xxx miles on it. thanks, oh ya the steeper the incline the more it acts up. I have already added more fluid.thanks again
OK first let me say I know nothing about transmissions but had a family member several years ago have a similar issue and it was I believe a seal that was busted in the transmission between it an the torque converter. Again don't know if all those terms are correct or not. You really should post a new thread in the transmission forum and maybe link to this thread, Mark K is much more likely to see it over there.
