Ok I have a early 99 f350 7.3 and I am fixing to upgrade my exhaust system. I'm going with international bellowed up pipes, EBPV delete pedestal, garret high flow outlet and a magna flow XT 4" turbo back
with muffler system. My question is should I get the up pipes ceramic coated and how would it be useful.
Thanks for your help and any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Not sure if you EBPV delete removes the tube that routes to the sensor or not. But if it does you may have to buy the sensor plug adapter that is essentailly a false input that the pcm will read that keeps the pressure reading at a optimum false input. Thats something you may want to check on.
I read in another post about putting a 1 watt 400 ohm resister in the plug for the same reason have you heard of this where would I get this plug your talking about.
You will get a soft code when you delete the EBPV. It won't set a light, but will throw a code if you scan it. As mentioned, a sensor can be used to eliminate the code, but I don't remember what it is off the top of my head. (Rocky, it's not the EBP tube and sensor on the front of the motor, it's the EBP sensor at the base of the pedestal)
Ceramic coating the up pipes is nice, but I don't think you'll really notice any upgrades unless you plan on dumping thousands of $$$ in upgrades on the motor. For the typical upgrades that involve intake, exhaust, maybe a little bigger turbo and injectors, non-coated up pipes should be fine.
Have you upgraded the intake yet? Got a chip? What other plans do you have?
Hello Chris no other upgrades yet I have been running a Deablo mid range chip since a few weeks after I got the truck in 99 with no problems at all.I've noticed a small drop in power and mileage lately. I plan on the upgrades i need slowly but surely. I
thought I'd start with the exhaust as it appears the ups are leaking a bit and I wanted that any way.You had given me Matt's number at MAD Matts and I tried to get in touch Friday but it was late and no answer I would like to do the upgrades in the order I should so I was going to see if he would do them and advise me as to whats next. On the up's do I need to replace the collector or not Clay at Riff Raff did not have one but did not tell me if I need one.
No need to replace the collector separately. Either go with the replacement donuts or get the bellowed up pipe kit. Matt likes to go hunting on the weekends this time of year. Leave a message and he'll get back with you.
