intermittent hard starting
so i have an 88 ford f250 with the 351w the problem i having is after the truck sits a while it takes a 4 to 6 second crank to start. i have good fuel pressure and after it starts any immediate starts after are quick. also have noticed in the morning when its cold my first start of the day is also quick. the fuel pumps both kick on for a second. i have even grounded the pump wire at the diagnostic port to let the pumps run for a few seconds thinking it wasnt getting enough fuel before i crank with no improvements. i had thought maybe timing because sometimes the truck runs strong and other times it bogs a bit on hard acceleration but wouldnt know where to start there. the exhaust also smells like the truck is running rich. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
