TPMS issues 2004 Exlorer
I had the flashing TPM light on the dash, indicating that one or more of the sensors has a weak battery.
Purchased new sensors off ebay, (well unused as it looks, they have a date stamp in the plastic from June of 2009). I assumed they were good and had them installed when I got new tires. Tried to reset the TPM system with the 3 key turn, Brake, 3 key turn and I only get the two passenger side tires to work.
Contacted seller and got 2 more sensors and try resetting system with two of the sensors in hand (not installed) and only one works (now I am up to 3 working sensors).
Am I missing something? do the sensors need to be pressurized to work? or is it my moving them around the issue? I just find it hard to believe I have this bad of luck that I have 3 bad sensors out of 6.
Is there a way to check the sensors installed and not installed?
Thanks
