Console Shifter **** removal
I need to change a piece on the floor console and am trying to figure out how to remove the shifter ****. The console piece thats is being replaced needs to pass over the shifter .
First post -- trying to be as descriptive as possible.
Its the console piece that contains the cupholder and shifter.
2005 F150.

The center console shifter does come off. I know the first step, but have forgot how the rest comes apart. The first step is to pull the little silver sleeve at the bottom of the shifter straight down. After you get that down the rest should be easy.
