Did pressure test on pump due to the "odd" drip here and there.... 13 psi and here comes the waterfall!!!!!!!! Seems either the water pump front shaft seal and/or the weeping hole is evidently causing the issue....
Problem is.... I am leaving for work in 3 days, and there are no water pumps available to install...... With no pressure in the system it barely leaks... So here is my alternate....
I have to drive 400+km to work in 3 days... IF I keep the syatem topped right up, can I safely drive the truck with the coolant cap loose???? Therefore not allowing the system to pressure up???
I've done some reading that suggests that running a cooling system with no pressure can cause cavitation. I have no personal experience in this matter, and I'm not a mechanic. If it were my truck, I would avoid driving it like that if possible. But, you know, you gotta do what you gotta do.
