trailer wiring how to?

got a class 4(i think) hitch, and a trailer brake controller. It was all wired up before but i rippe it out necause the PO did it ugly. how do i go about wiring it up, controller, pedal and the hitch pinout?
i apologize for noob question-just want this done right, need to be safe!

Parts store or even Wal=mart sell an adapter for your specific truck, it will come with instructions. Then you get wahtever trailer plug you need and wire it up and mount to the truck. I got one with the 7way rv plug and 4 prong flat since that is what my trailers use.

Are you trying to wire the truck from scratch or just wire in a new plug, or just wire in your brake control to your plug or what? I am slightly confused as to what you are doing.

its all good, put a little initiative in and found a simple diagram how to connect the controller with the plug and pedal. Just going out to get some breakers now
