Does anyone have any idea why my 95 f150 4.9l straight six has a fast rattle that is present as soon as i crank the truck, it gets faster as rpms climb...and for some reason is blowing the gasket off the oil filter after running for bout 2 minutes???
Check the harmonic balancer, check the engine mounts, check the fan/fan clutch, check all the spark plugs and wires. Basically check anything that can cause the engine to vibrate. Don't run the engine until you find the cause, or you'll cause more damage. But I suspect there is something more serious going on, since you mention the oil filter.
im goin on 3 times now...the truck ran great i started it one day an the noise was there..it still ran just as fine but the noise got worse then it stated blowing the oil filters basically as soon as i crank the truck now
You won't know how bad it is till you pull it and take it apart. If you do have a spun bearing, you'll most likely need to do a major overhaul, or look for a good used engine.
