Ladies and Gentleman. New to the Forum. Just purchased a new toy.
decided to do this winter project myself. a 1955 Ford F-100. It currently has the
original 239 Y Block. (which is locked up) But I have access to a nice 302 ready to install.
Couple questions - What's required besides new mounts and a rear sump pan to drop the 302.
And - I'd like to use the original 3 speed trans that came with the 239.
Will the Bell Housing from the original bolt up to the new 302 ?
I don't know of anyone making adapters for the 302 to Y-block BH. It's kind of strange, but they are made for just about every other engine. You might check out John Mummert's site, or search on "Y-block adapters": FORD Y
