ok 2 days ago i was reving engine to get up driveway in snow with no 4x4 yesterday on way home truck dies out in front of house,, starts and shuts off
today i put oil and it starts but pouring oil from under turbo drivers side i cant really see where its coming from i can see the icp it has oil on it but not sure if thats is the problem . it starts to pour out when cranking and when running.
what can i do or look for its cold out here ....
I had an 01 7.3 that did the same thing to me. I took it to a mech and he told me a bolt worked loose on the turbo. Only cost like 60 bucks to get it fixed. Don't know if its the same situation but sounds awful similar.
there is no oil on top its def coming from rear of engine i dont wannna pull more stuff off if i dont need to but its coming out fast.. i was reading about bed plate ? can that be seen ?
any instructionn or pics of the heat sheild ? how many bolts ? sizes thanks ill try tomorrow im wrking on it in driveway bad stuff man ..thanks
Assuming we are working on a 2003 engine, the two small bolts that secure the shield to the HPOP cover are 10mm heads, and the one bolt securing it to the driver side cylinder head is 13mm.
hi im back its not the icp sensor its intact but from under the truck i see a sensor hanging that cracked off is their other sensors behind there ? that would leak alot of oil thanks for the help

An oil leak, leaking out under pressure the way you describe should be very easy to pinpoint. Have you looked further up top the engine? Oil pressure switch, turbo oil feed supply line, turbo oil drain tube, oil filter housing (cracked?), oil cooler filter adapter and oil cooler top cover/gasket are a few other sources that come to mind. Do you have a way of posting pics of where it's coming from by any chance?
i took alot apart today and it looks like its coming from that icp location but i see a sensor hanging that cracked off the peice is plastic thats hanging with clip still attached so i know its a sensor just cant find where it went. i cant see that ipr sensor maybe that it? do you have a pic and is it hard to reach
