There is a selector valve on the dash left of the steering wheel near the **** you pull out to turn on the headlights.
Our pump is a mechanical 'suction' pump. My understanding is that, unlike gassers, our trucks dont "PUSH" the fuel from the tank.
Instead our pump "PULLS" the fuel to the front of the engine.
Yup, there is a selector switch and valve. Basically there is a switch in the cab by the headlight ****. Down on the frame there is an electrically operated valve to control which tank you draw from, which tank you return fuel to, and which tank your fuel level gauge in the cab reads from.
Alex, your correct. We only have the one mechanical fuel pump on the engine. The mechanical pump on our trucks is a 2 stage pump. The first stage draws fuel from tank and pumps it into the fuel bowl at 5-7psi, the second stage draws filtered fuel from the bowl and sends it into the fuel rails in the heads and to the injectors at 40-60psi. The pressure in the rails is controlled by the fuel pressure regulator, which regulates pressure at the return lines. Fuel is returned to the tank by the fuel pressure regulator. So yes, we have a regulated return fuel system from the factory.
