Lightbulb Header for 76' 360

Just wondering if anyone has ordered header for a 360 lately? I"m getting ready to order a new exhaust for my 76' F250. I was looking at summit racings Dynomax dual exhaust kit with the dynomax headers included in the kit. I just want this trasfer to be as painless as possible. I've heard the horror stories of craming headers into the motor compartment and needing to lift the motor and plasma torches, etc.....

Please give me some ideas or opinions.

Thanksl,

Spend the little extra money and get the Hedman headers! I'm saying this due to experience. We put a set of Flowtech headers on my friends 77 hi-boy 360 and they leaked horribly!! Being the hi-boy body style you need 2 peice slip together headers. The Hedmans are far superior!

Go with the dynomax headers. I just replaced my old dynomax headers with a set of headmens ceramic coated. They were a pain in the but. I had no problems with leaks with the dynomax's. If they still made them in the ceramic line i would rather have them. You will have to raise the motor off the mounts to install them though.( you have to with the headmans also ). With headmans i ended up putting a little cut on the passenger side frame rail as they are very snug, the dynomax seem to have more clearance, also the headmans outlets are very close to your rear spring hangers, the dynomax's have more clearance.

So is it just as easy as unbolting the motor mounts, lifting it up a few inches and bolting up the headers?

76 Ranger, Were the headers you were using one piece or 2? Both the flowtechs and Hedmans I've used are 2 piece so neither require the removal or lifting of the engine/motor mounts. Thus the leaking problem. The flowtechs are a very sloppy fit. As far as the outlets (atleast on mine) weren't a problem.

Yes the dyno max i had were two piece. I welded the slip fit together to make sure i would have no leaks. The new headmans i got are ceramic coated and one piece. The dynomax took a couple of hours, the headmans took two days and a lot of struggling to get them in. I ran studs on the exhaust with the dynomax's but had to remove the top row to fit the headmans.
