My brother has a 96 f150 5L and wants to do a drum to disc swap. We checked summit and found nothing. We were thinking of grabbing an expo axle but the bolt sizes are different. Any suggestions?
Just throwing this out there,
I replaced my wheel cylinders in my drums, along with the springs, shoes and brake lines, and my truck stops better than the day I bought it. Like night and day difference. Fully functional drums do stop well, but it is very common to see the cylinders stick, especially for the rear shoe, and you end up braking with only the top third or so of the front shoe. I bought my parts on RockAuto.com (had many more parts on that order), paid 2.17 each for wheel cylinders, 9.99 for the spring kit (did both sides with one kit), and shoes were like 18 at OReilly.
