Hello, I'm looking to buy a bumper, and stone deflector that goes underneath the bumper for my 65 F250. Local sources are pretty dried up for those parts. Has anyone had any good luck with the aftermarket bumpers? LMC, and some of the others look to maybe be sourced from the same place. Has anyone used them?
Chrome or painted ?? Ive heard bad things about the repop chrome bumpers plating failing in relative short time.
Additionally if you want the correct 64-6 type bumper...the repops wont match as they, like the tailgates were superceded with the 67 to 77 I think type bumper. The ends are boxier then the originals.
my dad got one from lmc a couple years ago and i stole his old one off his 66 and bent it to match the contour of the truck instead of being flat i do beleave that he may still have a chrome one still at the house he is on this site as well most of the time in the oregon chapter postings i think his name is abertha66 not totaly sure
After someone clipped the front section of the 65, taking out the front fender and bumper, I needed a quick fix and found a new replacement in a local bumper shop. Within a couple months I tweeked the bumper by standing on it to wash the hood. Ended up salvaging a front bumper from 'Pic n Pull', if you have the original, even better, then had it straightened and rechromed. It came to around $250, this was many yrs. ago, suspect prices have changed?
