Welcome to to FTE Zak, and the So Cal chapter. Thank you for your service. What part of Florida were you in? I spent 4 years at Homestead AFB, 30 miles south of Miami. I am sure you will like it here. Good bunch of guys, and very knowledgeable.

I have a Lansky and it works great for field knives. I enjoy sitting around camp putting an edge on stuff. But I wouldn't want to try to make any money doing it.

Then I have one of these:
Tool Sharpening the Tormek Way - Tormek Grinding Machines

This thing is fantastic for plane irons and chisels. Kind of a pain to use for knives though. Does a great job, but not for production.

What I want for kitchen knives is one of these, and if I wanted to sharpen for profit, I would get one. Not cheap!!!
Commercial Sharpeners & Cutlery

I also love all the Diamond Hone products.

Thank you for such a warm welcome. I used to live about a half hour north of West Palm Beach. Homestead is a decent area.

Due to an series of unfortunate events I did not get off at 2:30am as scheduled. Instead, I got of at 6:00am. To compound things, today Is the day our new schedule starts, so I work again today at 11am after driving from long beach to van nuys. Today should be fun.

Yoots can do those kinds of hours.

Just wait until you become an Ol' Fart and try it!

Yoots? Did you say Yoots?

We get overtime. 3 hours of double time yesterday. Technically I should get double time all day today.

I've played Pachelbel Canon a few times at weddings (with the upright) and I gotta say I like this version!

Also found a few more trailers to ponder... there's somethin' for everyone out there!

At the end of last year, I turned 49.
So as of the first of the year, I started walking again 5 out of 7 nights a week.
I had put off walking for the last three years And have gained 40 bls because of my lazy ***. I got sick at the end of last year and it seemed to take way longer to get over it because of my weight, So i think..

I Started out on the first day at only a half a mile. It's been less than two weeks and im at 2 miles, at a 13 minute mile pace. "fast walk".
I started out at 232 bls. Almost 40 lbs more than i have been in years.

I had all my blood work done and my cholesterol is through the roof.
I have been trying to eat better and not eating out of boardness. New word for you ..

Maybe i'll stop being so tired and ready for bed at 7 pm like i have the last couple of years.

It can't hurt, Phil. I think most of us need more exercise than we get...I know I do.

I know I need some exercise. Doc seemed to agree rather confidently with that.

So I decided to start another bedroom. Pulled the carpet today, and this is what I found. This hardwood is in really good condition. There has been some replacing of strips along the front wall. I'm not sure what that was for. I don't think it was water damage, because the strips adjacent to the wall are sound. Looks like a honey Oak stain was used on this room, but the replacement strips are natural. I think it will all sand out and match pretty well. If not I'll have to do some touch-up staining.
