My truck usually revs up in the cold, hasn't done it in a while, any input? Oh and the e break is on. It is 9° out, should sound like an old man taking taking a dump at walmart:-)#
Well don't know exactly what you mean, but after start in cold weather the ebpv closes (you can hear the hiss at the tailpipe) and the rpm rises to about 1100 rpm. This is completely normal in the trucks attempt to bring itself up to operating temperature. At 0 degrees yesterday morning, my truck started on the first attempt (after GPR led shut off...about two minutes) and purred. Mind you, the truck hadn't been started in over two weeks too. In this kind of weather, I do not use the e-brake at all...too high a chance of it freezing up (don't use air brakes in my other truck either after winter driving...park on flat ground). Are you running 5W-40 synthetic oil in your truck?
I think it may have to run a few minutes before it will raise up. At least, that is the way everyone I have had has done, including a couple 6. uh-ohs.
It was around 31 here yesterday. I went out, fired it off, and left it running to defrost the windows and warm up to go get a biscuit. After a few minutes at normal idle, mine raised up to the 1100. I heard it do it while changing clothes. My switch for e-brake does not work and I do not set it anyway.

You only have to set the emergency brake to get it to high idle on the manual transmission pickups.
I am thinking if the idle does not raise after a couple of minutes, you will need a good scanner that will show live data. Engine oil temp and intake air temp. You may have a bad sensor.
To the OP, have you done anything with the air intake? The IAT sensor is what controls the EBPV and if you removed the stock intake, you need to plug the sensor back in an tie it out of the way on the fender.
I just rebuilt my turbo, pedestal and did plelnum boots and such. did the high idle at first, but then I adjusted the EBVP part and now it dont seem to go to high idle.
