So... the weekend is almost over and its but one nights sleep from having to go back to work.
I had a busy weekend.... yesterday after work I changed the drivers side hub (again )on my Superduty. When I put the hub on the bench you could hear the bearings crunch as you "tried" to spin the hub by hand. Then oil change, and fuel filter change. Then we coated the whole bottom of the truck with Fluid Film. I smell sheep everywhere we go now. lol
Then I had the guy with the mustang come over again. We jack the car up and start REALLY looking it over. Who ever restored the car for this guy had pulled the wool over his eyes. They had seam sealed the rear floors, the wheel wells, the torque box area, and lots more. Overall the car was all there, but it wasn't anywhere as nice as my 78 is. We offered the guy $3k for the car. He wasn't really insulted from what we could tell, but he wasn't willing to sell it that cheap. Considering the amount of work it needs, $3k is a fair price for the car as is. The best thing that could happen to the car would be a complete tear down, a trip on a rotisserie, and a fresh paint job.
Its a shame the underside wasn't nicer... if it was my dad would have bought it from me and everyone would have been happy.....
Good morning, Clint, Tom, Wade, and whomever else is reading...
Tom, I've read up on fluid film and have some on order. Within the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be painting my frame and cab floor with some coal tar epoxy. After that's cured my plan is to fluid film liberally.
Good morning Islanders, Tom, Bob and Clint. A lovely 36* this AM. Got to love fall, 30's in the evening and 60/70 in the day time
Tom thanks for the info on the fluid film. Guess I'm gonna go ahead and pick that up. Seems the folks that have used it before, love it. Want to protect the Mrs new ride and my old truck.
Have fun Wade, I hadn't even heard of that until now...
Good time if you get a chanve Bob. They had a guy last year with quite the collection of old engines. Hit and miss engines powering everything from a washing machine to saws and drills. Pretty awesome. Then they have knoves, swords, hatchet toss and guns. Black powder to 50 cal. Takes me about three hours to see and do everything . Heading down Sunday, but it runs Saturday as well.
Unfortunately this weekend is already planned for packing and moving stuff to the new house. Funny thing is, friends of mine lived in a house in Manville for a few years that bordered that property. There's always next year I guess!
