Good Morning everyone. It's Wednesday, but it feels like Monday. Ugh ...
At least got some progress on something at work that I've been beating my head against for a week. I might actually get to move forward with my project.
I picked this 2000 Olds Intrigue up about 2 years ago with a bad left head gasket. (front cylinder head) It has 160K on it, but not in bad shape really. Just thought it would be a cheap fix and a cheap car for one of my kids. The fix IS relatively cheap, maybe $400 in parts, but the investment in time just sucks. If this were a standard motor facing North and South I would've had it apart and assembled by now. I have the head bolts out, but there is a cam chain guide that needs to come out before the head will lift off. This requires dropping the subframe a few inches to gain access to the harmonic balancer. Then remove the timing chain cover to remove 1 stinking bolt on the chain guide.
I'll get it done. I have to at this point, or admit that a GM product kicked my a$$. I'm not doing that.
Thanks Lynn & Jay for hosting the party on Sat. It was a blast.
How bad were the trails Jay and where did you go. I cleaned the carbs yesterday which was a complete waste of time because they were spotless. Strange for sleds that sat for 2-3yrs. Maybe they did run the carbs dry?
