Well........I was headed to the shop, but just got a phone call........
A disabled buddy has two Elk down and want's my wrecker out in the field to hang and quarter them on. Guess I'll be getting some more Elk today!

I like it, great deal at $800. A 351 came with it? I can't wait til I can get a project of my own. I've never had the space to take on anything too big. Luckily our new house is on 5 acres and I have a shop, game on!

Rebuild it........
I guess the hot new 2.8 was a little too much for the geriatric trans.
Near as I can figure, it's about equal or slightly better than a 4.0 OHV Ford.
The trans started sounding funny about a week after I buried the speedometer for about 3 mile stretch..........I think it was a little too much for the old gear box.
