Removed Nerf Bars

I removed my nerf bars and replaced them with a set of these Ford F250 550 SD Crew Cab 1999 2012 Factory Style Running Boards Step Bars | eBay
Why you might ask ? It's not that I don't like the looks of the nerf bars, I really do, but I drive on dirt roads and the nerf bars get packed with mud, it gets thrown up on the doors, and mud gets thrown up in-between the door and the threshold making it a real pain to try to keep clean. I thought about getting different mud flaps but the only way I could see them doing any good is if they were dragging on the ground. Here's some photos of my install.

The first photo is the mud accumulation on the nerf bars I was referring to, this is one of the cleaner times.

Photos of the mud accumulation inside the doors front and back doors (I didn't clean it before changing the running boards).

Here's a photo of the new running boards.

I have the same issue. I live on dirt roads and just sold my 04 with the running boards and bought a 2012 with the chrome bar looking ones. Like the looks of the new ones better, but the old ones work better for me. Thanks for the link.

I really liked the looks of the chrome ones also and prefer the looks of them on the truck, but like we've both found out from experience, they're not worth a crap on muddy roads.
