Ok, so yesterday driving my truck, 2007 F350 cc/lb dually all stock, couple times I had 0 throttle response, now tonight of course cel comes on. Well tomorrow I am going on a 800km drive so just looking for some ideas of what might cause something like this? Had the momentarily no throttle again tonight after the cel came on. I'm wondering if this may be something to do with the drive by wire system? Maybe my go pedal doesn't want to go any more? Last time I had truck issues, was the day I was supposed to go on this same drive 3 or 4 years ago, I don't think my trucks want me to go to my aunt and uncles haha.
I know, but I don't have time or anywhere to get an sgII before tomorrow morning. Should have also mentioned, drive is through the mountains. Will be leaving fairly early tomorrow, probably before the local parts stores are open. Ford here is not open sundays
Yeah the code reader I got actually told me to check the egr valve or egr tube, pretty decent little thing. Had one cough so far. Probably gonna pick up a new valve and swap it when I get where I'm going.
Will see what i come up with tomorrow as far as price on a new valve. I am kind of lean towards brand new parts. Have to see how coked up it is too. It reacted poor to lots of speed variation. Maintaining speed did fine, no bucking and no smoke.
Ford says use Carb cleaner - not brake cleaner. There was some confusion on this awhile back and Ford came out w/ a warning stating that brake fluid can wick up the shaft and damage seals.
